Vice President Leni Robredo on Monday, January 17, visited the Office of the Vice President (OVP) Swab Cab at the Ynares Center in L. Sumulong Memorial Circle in Antipolo City, Rizal, which offered free antigen testing in response to the surge of COVID-19 cases. VP Leni is advocating for free antigen testing to identify confirmed cases faster and mitigate the spread of the coronavirus. The one day Swab Cab at the Ynares Center aims to reach 1,000 individuals. It is also open to walk-in patients from other cities and municipalities. The OVP Swab Cab started at 8am and will be open until all 1,000 test kits have been used. Those who will test positive at the Swab Cab will receive an OVP care kit and will be transferred to an isolation facility. As of 2:10 pm, 461 antigen tests have been conducted where 54 people tested positive while 407 others tested negative, resulting in a positivity rate of 11.7 %. VP Leni checked on the patients and the volunteers during her visit at the Ynares Center. Later at the #RizaLeni online Meet and Greet organized by the Robredo People’s Council, VP Leni thanked everyone who made the event possible. “Nagpapasalamat kami sa lahat ng partners, volunteer doctors, medical students, nurses, and supporters who took part in the entire operations. Vice President Leni Robredo returned to Dinagat Islands on Tuesday, December 28, to bring more relief assistance to the residents and assure them and their local officials of continued help as they start rebuilding their lives after super typhoon “Odette” leveled the entire province when it slammed into the Visayas and Mindanao two weeks ago. In a Facebook post, VP Leni shared that the situation in the area was "still very bad." She personally checked on the situation in Dinagat Islands on December 19 and saw the devastation brought by the typhoon, said to be one of the strongest in 2021. VP Leni, together with Governor Kaka Bag-ao, went to visit the Dinagat Islands Command Center and the communities hit-hard by “Odette”. The Vice President said that Governor Kaka briefed their team on the extent of damages in the island and discussed what kind of help the people of Dinagat Islands still need. "Donations started pouring in, mostly from private and development organizations. There were also some from LGUs. The province has been prepositioning them well," VP Leni said in her post. "But because the entire province was badly hit, they would need more in the long term." Families living in coastal areas and danger zones lost their entire houses to the typhoon, and have been staying in evacuation centers since Odette ravaged their province on December 16. The local government of Dinagat has already set aside five hectares of land for the permanent relocation of these families living in danger zones, and the Office of the Vice President has committed to partnering with the Dinagat LGU to put up another Angat Buhay Village. Vice President Leni Robredo on Tuesday, December 28, visited the communities in the coastal town of Tubigon, Bohol, one of the hardest hit provinces of super typhoon “Odette”. Despite the inclement weather, VP Leni, together with Cong. Ed Chatto, Mayor William Hao, and other local officials, inspected the extent of the damage brought by the typhoon and discussed the rehabilitation and recovery efforts for the communities. VP Leni also heard from the residents and barangay officials themselves their ordeal. Odette’s strong winds and heavy rains left the communities unrecognizable. Homes were flattened and there were debris all over. Boats were also washed ashore. “Families are still struggling to pick up the pieces and need a lot of help to rebuild their lives,” VP Leni wrote on Facebook where she also shared photos from Tubigon. VP Leni shared relief goods with the affected families and vowed to provide housing materials to help the families rebuild their homes.

Vice President Leni Robredo attended the launch of Bangsamoro for Leni, during her visit to Marawi City on Monday, 18 October 2021. Here, various civil society organizations pledged their support for Robredo’s presidential bid in 2022, underscoring the Vice President’s consistent presence and assistance in Mindanao, especially the Bangsamoro region. VP Leni, in turn, expressed her gratitude for this show of support, and underscored the importance of empowering citizens, especially those in the fringes, in the fight to ensure good governance. “Iyong pakikipaglaban para sa tamang governance, nagsisimula sa empowerment ng pinakamaliit na sektor ng pamahalaan. Gustong sabihin, obligasyon nating lahat na magtulong para ma-empower iyong mga tao—ma-empower na matuto [sa] pagpili,” she said. Under its Angat Buhay program, the Office of the Vice President has brought initiatives for livelihood, education, women empowerment, rural development, housing, and health to various parts of Mindanao. The OVP has also actively supported the City of Marawi and other nearby areas since the siege broke out, providing, among others, an Angat Buhay Village for displaced families, different forms of interventions for relief, livelihood, education, as well as assistance for wounded soldiers and policemen and for the families of those killed in action. Vice President Leni Robredo visited on Saturday, Oct. 16, the site of the first run of Vaccine Express in Cagayan de Oro City at the PHINMA - Cagayan de Oro College - Senior High School Building. The OVP's Vaccine Express aims to vaccinate 500 sikad drivers who belong to the A5 priority group. This is made possible by the OVP's partnership with the local government of Cagayan de Oro City, PHINMA COC - Senior High School, Balaod Mindanaw, Tabang Sikad, Cebu Pacific, Tri-Vision and Chef's Secret, Inc., and other Angat Buhay partners, to augment the LGU’s ongoing vaccination program. Each vaccinee will also receive incentive packs, containing food packs and face masks.
